Nitin Krishnaswamy
Co-FounderNitin Krishnaswamy is a dedicated volunteer serving the differently abled community at Manolaya Homeless Shelter and Valley Hospital. He has conducted groundbreaking research in AI and cybersecurity, earning recognition such as the Air Force Award for its applications in national security at TNJSF. Currently pursuing research at Columbia University, he has also collaborated with students at UPenn to develop a system for triaging c-section patients based on biometrics, showcasing his passion for humanitarian efforts. He was selected for the IBM Quantum Programming Summer Course and received a Certification of Excellence. Academically, Nitin is the Founder/President of the FLHS AI Club and the Tech Director of the STEM Club. Nitin was ranked Top 50 Nationally in the ACSL Senior Division competition qualifying twice in a row for Finals. He currently serves as the Captain of the FLHS Varsity Tennis Team.

Alex Michelman
Co-FounderAlex Michelman intends to pursue veterinary medicine throughout his college journey. Regularly, he shadows veterinarians and has generously donated close to 100 pounds of food to local animal shelters. Alex is an integral part of the track and field team at Fair Lawn High School, having served as a varsity athlete for three years. Additionally, he has dedicated time to assisting individuals with disabilities, who need exercise, through participation in the Achilles nonprofit organization. During summers, Alex assumes the role of a lifeguard at the memorial pool, earning a promotion to head guard by the season's end. He is an officer of Fair Lawn High School’s Trivia Club and a member of the national honor society. Alex has volunteered at the Fair Lawn Public Library to help run holiday-themed events, helping children learn to read and find enjoyment in literature. Alex Michelman has shown dedication in his work and continues his aspirations in medicine.

Rohan Xavier
Co-FounderRohan Xavier holds a vivid interest in both mechanical engineering and computer science. He intends to major in both Mechanical engineering and computer science. Rohan has worked at the local public library for over 500 hours, where he helped run or assist countless programs for children aged 2-12. Additionally Rohan is an avid member of the local volunteering organization: Fair Lawn For All Ages, which centers around helping local seniors and helping out with other community activities. Rohan is also the treasurer for the Fair Lawn High School Asian Student Union and the publicist for the FLHS Trivia club as well a varsity athlete in the school Winter and Spring track and field team.

Co-FounderAdam Zhao is an aspiring programmer who seeks to find innovative solutions to problems in the field of psychology through code. Beyond the technical aspects, Adam understands the importance of coding as a tool for social change and progress. In his spare time, he often volunteers at local organizations, like Fair Lawn for All Ages, and tutors kids in lower- income areas, bridging gaps in knowledge and empowering communities. At school, he is an officer for the AI Club, where he helps club members actively participate. His aspirations drive his commitment to learning and growing as a coder, which leads him to constantly seek new challenges and opportunities to make a positive impact on the world.

What types of projects are accepted at your science fairs?
Feel free to submit any sort of project you want. So long as it fulfills the guidelines, you’re all set. *Judging criteria will vary from prize to prize (show how small projects are welcomed and will be rewarded).

Do you offer resources or support for first-time participants?
Check out our stem-based workshops and lectures above to help inspire new ideas and for children to learn about many scientific postulates and theories

What topics are covered in your workshops, and how are they designed to complement the learning experience at the science fairs?
Unfortunately, workshops take a lot to run, so if there is not enough interest they will not be regularly held. We will gauge interest and determine where to go from there.
